Broadway Sound is Knoxville’s first choice for custom-designed, quality sound systems. Churches and auditoriums of all sizes choose Broadway Sound, Inc. to design and implement the cutting-edge, custom sound solutions that today’s audiences demand. Broadway Sound provides sound for many of the area’s political events, concerts, and University of Tennessee events, including the sound at all home football games. Broadway Sound also repairs most stringed instruments, and still maintains a full studio for lessons.

In 1967, 26-year-old Lynn Clapp opened a one-room music shop named Lynn’s Guitars. As Knoxville began to recognize this local music legend’s skills, the shop expanded and relocated to the old Sharp’s Drugstore in 1969. By the ‘70s, Lynn’s Guitars included teaching studios, sales and warehouse space. Clapp also opened stores on Kingston Pike and Jackson Square in Oak Ridge.

In 1976, a devastating fire destroyed the original Lynn’s Guitars and prompted extensive remodeling. The business incorporated in 1977, and in 1984 the name was changed to Broadway Sound. By 2000, Broadway Sound had grown so much that Clapp bought the adjacent building and expanded the store to 10,000 square feet.
